Peace Corps

 

PEACE CORPS / BOLIVIA

 

 

Peace Corps returned to Bolivia in 1990 after a 17 year absence.  The program currently has 159 volunteers working in Agricultural Extension, Soil Conservation/Environmental Education, Micro-Enterprise Development, Integrated Education and Basic Sanitation projects with host country agencies and communities.  Most Volunteers are assigned to rural areas in the departments of Oruro, Cochabamba, Santa Cruz, Chuquisaca, and Tarija for their two-year service.

The Peace Corps main office is in Cochabamba and also maintains Regional Offices in La Paz, Sucre, Santa Cruz and Tarija as well as a Training Center located in Huayllani, 13 kilometers outside of Cochabamba.
